Parish Organizations and Community Outreach

Interested in participating in the following Parish Organizations and/or Ministries.

ALTAR LINENS MINISTRY

The Altar Linen Ministry is responsible for the care of all the linens used for liturgy. Members assist the parish by cleaning, pressing, and folding purificators and corporals from daily and weekend masses. Coordinator: Cynthia Madey

ALTAR SERVERS

Altar Servers can be said to be very fortunate that they have been chosen by God to give their service during the celebration of the liturgy. The liturgy is a public act of worship that the Church gives to God, so the service of the Altar Server is extremely important. Altar servers are chosen from among the faithful who display a desire to participate in an intimate way during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Coordinator: Deacon Benyo/Assistants: Daniel Palicio and Judd Richards 

BAPTISM/QUINCEANERA COORDINATOR

BUILDING & GROUNDS

Volunteers who take care of and facilitate the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Church, its grounds, and the Rectory. Coordinator: Christopher Johnson

CHOIR

A volunteer organist, choir director, and choir members are needed to accompany the hymns and play/sing traditional liturgical music for the 9:00am Sunday Mass and Holy Days. If you love to sing, your talent is greatly needed! Coordinator: Judd Richards 

COFFEE AND DONUTS

Coordinator: Margarita Vivian/Assistants: 5pm Maryland Arnold and Julia Settlemyer/12noon The Luna Family

CYO / CATHOLIC YOUTH ORGANIZATION 

St. Paul’s CYO is committed to the future of our Church, which lies in the hearts of the Youth. Our goal for the entire program is to build a community of happy, healthy, holy youth and assist them on their journey to a deeper relationship with Christ in today’s world. St. Paul’s CYO is open to all 9th-12th graders who wish to join us. We have regular meetings, social outings, and various community service projects. Please see the bulletin for event details. EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION

This group of men and women distribute Communion at Sunday and Holy Day Masses. They also bring Communion to the sick and homebound of our parish family as well as to patients in the nearby hospitals and nursing homes. Coordinator: Vacancy

FOOD PANTRY

LECTORS 

This group of men and women proclaim the Word of God at Sunday and Holy Day liturgies.

MONEY COUNTERS

We invite you to join our team of volunteer Money Counters who serve the Parish in a very important role, we ill provide training.  Interested:  Please contact Mrs. Lesha C. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

This program provides the opportunity for children in first through twelfth grade to deepen their knowledge of the Catholic Faith and grow in their relationship with God. Classes are held during the school year on Sundays at the Church from10:30 to 11:30am. Catechists must complete Diocesan Child Protection background checks and training. Coordinator: Deacon Benyo/CCD Teachers: Christopher and Therese Johnson, Cindy Settlemyer, and Claudia Palicio

USHERS

In addition to their primary responsibility of welcoming parishioners to the Sunday Liturgy, ushers also take counts of those in attendance when required, take up collections, and attend to emergencies as they arise. Coordinator: Keith Meenan

SACRISTAN COMMITTEE

This group of volunteers is responsible for preparing the church for the Sunday Masses. Their duties include such things as turning on lights, lighting altar candles, selecting gift bearers, filling Holy Water fonts, putting out the hosts, etc. Coordinator: Cindy Settlemyer/Assistants: Teeter Blair, Judy Chapman, Daniel Palicio, and Judd Richards 

Organizations

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS

Founded in 1882, the Knights of Columbus is the largest Catholic, fraternal, family service organization in the world, which sponsors Church, Community, Family, and Youth activities through local councils. The Knights of Columbus Council 11667 has a monthly meeting on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 7:00p.m. at St. Francis de Sales in Kilmarnock.  Coordinator: Christopher Johnson and Wes Werling

CRUSADERS FOR CHRIST

The Crusaders for Christ meets every Tuesday at 9:30 am at St. Paul’s Church. In addition to the weekly meeting, two hours of charitable and evangelical work are assigned to active members. This service includes visits to nursing homes, and the Pilgrim Virgin Statue home visitations. Auxiliary members make a commitment to pray daily for the Legion and its activities, but do not take part in the meetings or assigned works. Coordinator: Deacon Benyo and Cynthia Madey

LADIES OF ST. PAUL’S

This group of parishioners meets monthly as announced from September to May at the church. They have guest speakers and organize social functions here at St. Paul’s. They also host the Annual Spaghetti Dinner, the proceeds of which are used to benefit the local community.

CATHOLIC CHARITIES

The Parish Liaison Network (PLN) is a network of leaders from parishes throughout the Diocese of Arlington, working closely with staff and volunteers from Catholic Charities to best minister to the poor and suffering among us. Parish Liaison: Vacancy

CHRISTMAS ANGEL GIVING TREE

Every year St. Paul’s sponsors a Christmas Angel Giving Tree. Your gifts benefit the infants
and children served by Healthy Start and the senior clientele of Bay Aging.

PRISON MINISTRY

St. Paul’s Prison Ministry believes that no life is beyond the reach of God’s power. Therefore, we work together to meet the spiritual and sacramental needs of prisoners with the ultimate goal of seeing them restored to Christ, their families, and their communities.  Coordinators: Father Andrew J. Heintz

Committees

BUILDING COMMITTEE
The purpose of the Building Committee is to use the combined skills and talents of the committee members to advise the resident Priest, and in conjunction with the Diocese of Arlington, to identify a suitable place to construct a new church, office and rectory for the parish, and will also advise the resident Priest on how best to build a new church, office and rectory.
